History of the Punjab, many reference errors
To check as many errors as possible in the references and/or notes, I recommend using User:Lingzhi/reviewsourcecheck in conjunction with two other scripts. You can install them as follows:
- First, copy/paste
importScript('User:Ucucha/HarvErrors.js');
to Special:MyPage/common.js . - On the same page and below that script add
importScript('User:Lingzhi/reviewsourcecheck.js');
. Save that page. - Finally go to to Special:MyPage/common.css and add
.citation-comment {display: inline !important;} /* show all Citation Style 1 error messages */
.
When you've added all those, go to an article to check for various messages in its notes and references. (You may need to clear your browser's cache first). The output of User:Lingzhi/reviewsourcecheck is not foolproof and can be verbose. Use common sense when interpreting output (especially with respect to sorting errors). Reading the explanatory page will help more than a little. The least urgent message of all is probably Missing archive link; archiving weblinks is good practice but lack of archiving will probably not be mentioned in any content review. Lingzhi ♦ (talk) 16:20, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for this tool! I appreciate this, and will likely install it soon, but first I will get more familiar with checking manually.BreadBuddy (talk) 16:50, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Caste articles
Please note the following.
That is an advisory, not an accusation. However, while I cannot tell you what to do, I do also think you should perhaps concentrate on shorter, less high profile articles while learning about referencing etc and that you should make use of both your sandbox and the advice offered by people with vastly more experience than yourself. Your enthusiasm is welcome but enthusiasm alone is not going to cut the mustard, I'm afraid. The potential to do harm, even unwittingly, in the caste topic area is pretty high and it does tend to have a lot of fireworks at the best of times. - Sitush (talk) 18:26, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

Nair
Hi, I have left you to it at Nair and haven't even bothered looking at what you are doing. I've just now looked at the latest diff and I can see a big problem, explained at WP:CITEVAR. Whether the material is ok or not, the cite format will have to be changed. - Sitush (talk) 20:29, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
- @Sitush: In the talkpage around 2015, you had suggested that we move the cite style over to shortened footnotes, and the article when I began editing was a mixture of both styles (i.e the material for Gough used shortened footnotes while I believe the named references were used for Fuller). For the sake of consistency I stuck with shortened footnotes for what I had added with the thought in mind that I would have to standardize the other citations to sfn in the near future.
