Scott Biggs (born July 2, 1979) is an American politician who served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from the 51st district from 2012 to 2017.[1][2]
In 2016, Biggs authored the measure that called for SQ 777 to be voted on by the people, that would have lifted certain measures and protections against acts like cockfighting in the state that the Oklahoma Farm Bureau and other large agriculture-related organizations like the Oklahoma Gamefowl Association wanted. It was opposed by animal welfare groups and by former Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson, who pointed out that cockfighting was banned not by the legislature, but by the people who circulated petitions.[3] Previously, in 2002, "Oklahoma voters criminalized hosting, attending and raising birds for cockfighting events. State Question 687 received 56.2 percent support."[4]
