1837 Poonch revolt or 1837 Poonch uprising, was a Civil revolt in Poonch jagir against the Sikh Empire. The uprising broke out in 1837, the authority of the Dogra brothers in the hill region of Poonch was, however, seriously threatened in 1837 by one Shams Khan. He was chief of the Sudhan tribe, but had submitted to the Dogras, and taken service with Dhian Singh.[1]
