The route operates from Monday to Friday during both morning and afternoon rush hours. It serves the boroughs of Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension, Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, Ville-Marie, Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and Mount Royal. It has 68 stops in the eastbound and 69 stops in the westbound direction. It is the STM's 3rd busiest bus route serving an average of 33,425 daily passengers on an average weekday.[1] An average 67,000 passengers use the 80, 165 and 435 combined during an average week day making it one of the busiest bus corridors in the city.[2] The fare is $3.25 cash (coins only) or a valid STM transit pass.

This route runs from Monday to Friday during the rush hour periods at intervals of every 3–4 minutes. The entire route runs along a reserved lane on Côte-des-Neiges Road, René Lévesque Boulevard and finally on Parc Avenue. The purpose of this route is to run concurrently with bus routes 165 Côte-des-Neiges and 80 Avenue du Parc to provide better service because they are two of the busiest bus routes in Montreal. The portion along René Lévesque Boulevard is to serve the busy downtown core during rush hour, by bringing passengers to a metro station.
