79th Regiment Infantry U.S. Colored Troops

The 79th Infantry Regiment, U.S. Colored Troops was an all-black unit raised during the Civil War.

The first raising of the 79th USCT was formed from the 7th Corps de Afrique Infantry Regiment.

The second raising of the 79th USCT was formed from the 1st Regiment Kansas Volunteer Infantry (Colored).
