79th United States Colored Infantry Regiment

The 79th United States Colored Infantry was an all-black infantry regiment which fought for the Union Army during the Civil War.

The first raising of the 79th USCT was formed from the 7th Corps de Afrique Infantry Regiment. They fought at the Battle of Fort Smith

The second raising of the 79th USCT was formed from the 1st Regiment Kansas Volunteer Infantry (Colored).
