Dermot Hudson (born 20 July 1961) is a British communist[1] political activist with close relations with North Korea. He is the Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea,[2] Chairman of United Kingdom Korean Friendship Association,[3] and President of the British Association for the Study of Songun Politics.[4][5][6]
Hudson received a doctorate in socio-political science from the Pyongyang-based Korean Association of Social Scientists in April 2016, after submitting a thesis titled In Defence of Songun.
Hudson's works have been translated into Czech,[7] Serbian,[8] German, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Korean.
In 2021 Happenstance Films released the short documentary film A Friend of Kim about Hudson.
