Sixteen Mile Stand is a census-designated place (CDP) in Symmes Township, Hamilton County, Ohio, United States, 19 miles (31 km) northeast of downtown Cincinnati. The population of Sixteen Mile Stand was 3,091 at the 2020 census.

History

Sixteen Mile Stand takes its name from the distance to Cincinnati via the Montgomery Pike.[4]

Geography

Sixteen Mile Stand is located at 39°16′22″N 84°19′38″W / 39.27278°N 84.32722°W / 39.27278; -84.32722,[5] along U.S. Route 22 (Montgomery Road). The city of Montgomery is directly to the south.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.9 km2), all land.[6]

As of the census of 2020, there were 3,091 people living in the CPD, for a population density of 2,777.18 people per square mile (1,071.86/km2). There were 1,385 housing units. The racial makeup of the CPD was 66.0% White, 5.3% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 20.8% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 1.3% from some other race, and 6.6% from two or more races. 4.7% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.[8]

There were 1,428 households, out of which 34.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.7% were married couples living together, 13.5% had a male householder with no spouse present, and 22.0% had a female householder with no spouse present. 25.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.6% were someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.52, and the average family size was 3.06.[8]

23.0% of the CPD's population were under the age of 18, 52.4% were 18 to 64, and 24.6% were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41.4. For every 100 females, there were 92.0 males.[8]

According to the U.S. Census American Community Survey, for the period 2016-2020 the estimated median annual income for a household in the CPD was $109,142, and the median income for a family was $168,484. About 3.8% of the population were living below the poverty line, including 2.1% of those under age 18 and 2.2% of those age 65 or over. About 73.6% of the population were employed, and 83.9% had a bachelor's degree or higher.[8]
