Special Quartet is an album by David Murray released on the DIW/Columbia label in 1990. It features six quartet performances by Murray with Fred Hopkins, McCoy Tyner and Elvin Jones.

Reception

The Allmusic review by Scott Yanow awarded the album 5 stars stating "A successful outing full of mutual inspiration, this CD is easily recommended."[1]
