An alcohol is an organic compound in which a hydroxyl functional group is bound to a carbon atom. Some of the most common alcohols are: Ethanol, isopropyl alcohol (IPA), and methanol.

As a common alternative use, alcohol is a drug which is found in alcoholic drinks.
