The college was internationally recognised for its unique eLearning courses and developed over 400 online tutorials. In 2004 it signed a 2-year deal with the EBU to deliver new media eLearning programmes. NMTC production company Hypermedia7 Ltd. created the animated 3D logo for the Eurovision Song Contest 2012–13 (with music by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra).

From 2000– 2003 NMTC delivered Irish government funded media industry training programmes. These courses had a 2-year waiting list and 100% employment success rate.

Over the years a wide variety of industry professionals from the UK and Ireland guest lectured onsite and online. NMTC graduates progressed onto various academic institutions including École Nationale Supérieure Louis-Lumière, Trinity College Dublin and the University of Southern California.

In 2013 NMTC rebranded as National Media College. Several student films are available on Vimeo.
