This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Ardenbarb (talk | contribs) at 07:11, 9 May 2020 (I recently made what I thought were correct changes to Jan Scott's birth year and birthplace, but after extensive additional research I discovered that she was actually born in 1914 and apparently in Carbondale, Illinois). Jan Scott (September 26, 1914 – April 17, 2003) was an American production designer and art director.[1] She is the recipient of 11 Primetime Emmy Awards, more than any woman in the history of television and more than any other production designers. Scott was nominated for a record total of 29 times.

She was known as an innovator in the production design for the mini-series format, and also as a rare female production designer in a field dominated by men. Scott was a president of the Art Directors Guild and also served as a vice-president, second vice-president and governor of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
