Mattias Johansson (born 16 February 1992) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a right back for Greek club Panathinaikos.

Club career

AZ Alkmaar signed Johansson on a 4-year contract for a fee of around €1.5 million on 27 January 2012.[1]

On 1 August 2017, according to Panathinaikos officials, the Swedish right defender, who was recently released from AZ Alkmaar, will continue his career in Greece with the jersey of Panathinaikos.[2] The Swedish right back signed as a free agent after his release from AZ Alkmaar.

On 16 September 2018, the Swedish scored a brace when Giannis Bouzoukis, intercepted the ball and did well to serve the Swede international, who produced a great finish to put Panathinaikos in front in the 28th minute, following a great solo in the second half, scoring his second goal in the match in a hammering 3–1 away win game against AEL.[3] On 23 September, 2018 he scored for the second game in the row, the 3rd goal of Panathinaikos at the 3–0 victory against Levadiakos, a goal that made him the top scorer of Panathinaikos after 4 games. On 24 November 2018, Johansson scored a goal after some great work from Christos Donis and Dimitris Emmanouilidis, in a hammering 5–1 home win game against struggling Apollon Smyrnis.[4]
