Detective is a Indian Bengali drama film directed by Joydip Mukherjee and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films.[1] The film was released on 14 August 2020 on the Bengali OTT platform Hoichoi.[2][3][4] It is the first Bengali film released on OTT platform directly, which Hoichoi branded "First Day First Show".[5][6] The film features Anirban Bhattacharya, Ishaa Saha, Saheb Bhattacharya, Trina Saha, and Ambarish Bhattacharya in the lead roles.[7][8]

Plot

Based on Rabindranaths Tagore's original story, the film is about a police detective name Mahimchandra (Anirban Bhattacharya). Mahimchandra aspires to earn fame in his profession. He always craves complex cases to prove his worth in his own field. His wife Shudhamukhi (Ishaa Saha) who helps him in all possible ways. Mahimchandra also has an assistant (played by Ambarish Bhattacharya) who helps him on his investigation.[9][10][11]
