David Quarrey
David Quarrey CMG[1] (born 1966) is a British diplomat and the Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser and Deputy National Security Adviser along with Alex Ellis.[2][3] Quarrey took over the role of acting National Security Adviser while David Frost continues as the United Kingdom's Chief Negotiator to the European Union during the Brexit negotiations.[4][5] He was the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Israel from 2015 to 2019.[6]
Quarrey, who joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1994,[7][8] previously directed its Near East and North Africa Department. He has also served as a British diplomat in Harare, in Delhi and at the United Nations in New York. When Tony Blair was British prime minister, he was his private secretary for two years.[9]
Quarrey's term as ambassador to Israel ended in June 2019. He was replaced by Neil Wigan.[10]
Quarrey was Britain's first openly gay ambassador.[9] His husband is Aldo Oliver Henriquez.[11]

David Frost remains Chief Negotiator for the EU talks and those negotiations will remain his top single priority until they have concluded, one way or another. Therefore, the Prime Minister agreed that David Quarrey should become Acting NSA
