Founded in 2007, APO Group (formerly known as African Press Organization) is a media relations' consulting firm in Africa and the Middle East. The company owns and manages Africa Wire and MENA Wire, press release distribution services focusing on Africa and the Middle East and is the sole press release wire in Africa[1][2], as well as Video Newswire, a video production service distributing videos to up to 1000 news TV channels across Africa, the Middle East, and the world[3][4].

Its headquarters is in Lausanne, Switzerland, with offices in Senegal, Dubai and Hong Kong.

APO Group is the main Official Sponsor of World Rugby's African association, Rugby Africa[5], [6].

Content partnerships[edit]

APO Group has content partnerships with Bloomberg,[7] Thomson Reuters, CNBC Africa, LexisNexis, Dow Jones Factiva,[8] Proquest, Acquire Media, Comtex,[9] and 250 other African news websites. APO Group also provides a feed of Africa-related news releases to 250 million mobile subscribers in 30 countries in Africa.[10]

APO Group ended its partnership with PR Newswire in October 2012.[7]

APO Group is an authorized agency in Africa for GlobeNewswire NASDAQ OMX Group.[11] It is also an authorized agency in Africa for CSRwire, the Corporate Social Responsibility Newswire.[12]

APO Group manages Africa-Newsroom.com, a source of press releases and multi-media files related to Africa, publishing press releases, videos, photos, documents and audio-files for clients including Fortune 1000 companies, PR agencies, government and international institutions, including the United Nations, the European Commission, the International Criminal Court,[13] and the African Development Bank Group.[14]
