Ait melloul: Public Transportation[2][edit]

Ait Melloul Petite Taxi[edit]

Ait melloul are two types of taxi, the cyan petite taxi’s which carry up to three passengers, no seat-belts and can travel only within the city limits. They are cheap, though always agree a price beforehand or check that the meter is working, you can travel to almost anywhere within the city for less than 20 Dirhams. Don’t be conned into paying in Euros. It is sometimes difficult getting a taxi around 4.30pm/5pm when the shifts changes over, often a driver will refuse a destination.

Ait Melloul Blue mercede taxi[edit]

The Blue mercede taxi’s are for travel outside the city. They travel on fixed routes, dropping passengers off and picking up new fares on the route. They don’t leave until there are six passengers! Two sharing the front passenger seat and four in the back. You can purchase “extra seats” or can hire the whole taxi, though you will have to haggle over price. The main depot for taxi’s is Place Ait Melloul also referred to as Inzgane

Ait Melloul Bus[edit]

Buses are plentiful and link the city centre with the suburbs and the glorious beaches North of Agadir. Buses are cheap and frequent until 8pm. Buses display their final destination on the front in Arabic and French. Have coins as the driver’s don’t carry much change. An average fare is 5-10 dirhams.
