Season changes[edit]

On February 11, 2019, NBC announced a change to the program's host and its judging panel following the conclusion of the thirteenth season. Banks decided to leave, moving on to other projects. She is being replaced by Terry Crews, who was already working with the network as host of America's Got Talent: The Champions; both Heidi Klum and Mel B decided to leave America's Got Talent due to Mel B doing a Spice Girls reunion and Klum taking a new show to Amazon which would air in Germany. Actress Gabrielle Union and dancer Julianne Hough would replace them joining Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel.[3]

Judge Cuts[edit]

As in previous seasons, one guest judge will join the panel each show and will be given one golden buzzer opportunity to send an act straight to the live shows. Guest judges will not be given a red buzzer to use. Any act that receives four red buzzers will be immediately leave the competition. Three of the guest judges are former "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno, country music singer Brad Paisley, and "The Office" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" actress Ellie Kemper. Basketball player and husband of Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade has been revealed as the fourth guest judge.[4]
