Al-Mizhar American Academy[edit]

Al-Mizhar American Academy is an American school offering American Curriculum based on US Common Core standards, the school is located in Al-Mizhar Mirdif, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Its a private institution manage by Taaleem, a UAE-based company and one of the largest education providers in the Middle East.

Curriculum[edit]

The school is an American Curriculum based on US Common Core Standards and one of the first school in the UAE to use standards based curriculum by adopting Kent Country curriculum from the state of Michigan. The school provide an education that emphasizes academic rigor as well as the essential skills of critical thinking and creativity.

Campus and Facilities[edit]

The school has a sports field that is ideal for any kind of sports such as Rugby, Soccer, a dance studio fitted with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and special flooring, Swimming Pool that is ideal for swimming galas, and equipped with shading and private changing areas, an indoor gymnasium facility with showers and changing areas, there were three wireless computer labs are equipped with interactive whiteboards, and four science labs are specially equipped to support their Science classes, including Chemistry, Physics and Biology, a private practice rooms and two music classrooms support their music program. The Kindergarten Playroom for KG to KG-2 foster interactive learning and creative play. The Art Studios with two art classrooms and a pottery room support their Art program and their library feature approximately 14,000 volumes in various languages and is geared for elementary and secondary students. It also features and a research room with a bank of computers and their canteen offers a wide selection of nutritious meals, daily specials, salads, fresh fruits and healthy beverages.

The school language of Instruction is English. All students have the opportunity to study different languages with an emphasis on Arabic.

Activities[edit]

Students at AAM can participate in a broad range of activities offered including Book Club, Rugby, Film Studies, Band, Robotics, Painting, Writer’s Workshop, Aqua Club, Drama Club, Advanced Gymnastic, Scrapbooking, Spanish Club, Qur'an Club, Cooking, and Arabic Club.

The Knowledge and Human Resources Authority (KHDA)[1] is an educational quality assurance authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. They are responsible for the growth, direction and quality of private education and learning in Dubai. They have consistently rated the school as "good."[citation needed]
