The American Film Institute (AFI) Awards 2008 honored the best ten movies and ten television programs of the year.

This was the second time that the Academy Award for Best Picture winner (Slumdog Millionaire) was not honored as one of the year's top ten movies. However, it was ineligible for consideration since the AFI only considers American produced films in its deliberations and Slumdog Millionaire is a British film.
