The American Net and Twine Company Factory is a historic factory at 155 2nd Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company, founded in 1844, was the first to produce fishing nets made from cotton instead of hemp.[2] Ivers Whitney Adams was president of the company at one point.
This three story brick building was built by the company in 1875 to accommodate rising demand for its products, and twice expanded in the early years of the 20th century.[2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.[1] It is currently used as offices, and is home to offices of One Laptop per Child and Disney Research among other tech firms.
