AniWeather is a browser extension that displays weather information using animated and graphical reports. Its name comes from the combination of "Animated Weather" and "Any Weather". AniWeather uses Flash animations to show 5-day forecasts that simulate real weather conditions (e.g. rain and snow), with the data feed coming from weather.com. It also uses static or animated image reports to display weather information (such as temperature, humidity, radar info, satellite info, wind speed, UV index, hurricane info, and precipitation), with the data feed coming from weather.gov.
AniWeather is available for Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, the iPhone, and the iPad. The first version (0.5.0) of AniWeather went online on June 8, 2009. Currently, AniWeather is one of Firefox's featured add-ons, and it has over 500,000 users. AniWeather is also included in Mozilla's collection "Best of 2 Billion Firefox Add-ons".
