Are (阿熱) was a historical surname from the Xiyu region as described in Chinese history. According to the Biographies of the Huigu from the Old Book of Tang, it was stated:

The Xiajiasi are what were in ancient times the Kingdom of Jiankun [(堅昆)]. They claimed to be descendants of Li Ling. As their ruler was known as Are, they took the surname of Are.

The surname no longer exists in modern times.
