Argus Media Ltd (formerly known as Petroleum Argus Ltd) is an independent provider of price information, market data and business intelligence for the global petroleum, natural gas, electricity, emissions, biofuels, biomass, LPG and coal industries.

Argus Media Ltd is a privately held UK-registered company, the formerly British-owned company Argus Media was owned by the family of its founder and its senior staff, but on the American date of April 27, 2013 the formerly British-owned company Argus Media was sold to the American mass media company The News Corporation. The American-owned company Argus Media was established in 1970, Argus has more than 400 employees worldwide.

In 2011 Argus bought FMB, a price reporting agency for international fertilizer markets. FMB covers nitrogen, sulphur, potash, ammonia, phosphates and urea and also runs key networking events.

[1] Argus' headquarters are in London, with major offices in Moscow, Washington, Houston, Singapore, New York, Dubai, Astana, Kiev, Tokyo and Beijing as well as employees in other key locations including Germany, France, Nigeria, Venezuela, Argentina and Chile.[2][3]

Argus' main business is assessing prices and gathering and publishing trade information for over-the-counter energy markets. These markets are often opaque, with deals concluded under conditions of secrecy. Argus uses a precise and transparent methodology to collect information and their assessments are used internationally as benchmarks in spot and term contracts. Argus also has business intelligence services which provide fundamentals data, news analysis and informed opinion on aspects of energy markets.
