The 6 arrondissements of the Nord department are:

  1. Arrondissement of Avesnes-sur-Helpe, (subprefecture: Avesnes-sur-Helpe) with 151 communes. The area of the arrondissement is 1,407.51 km2, and its population was 232,032 in 2013.
  2. Arrondissement of Cambrai, (subprefecture: Cambrai) with 116 communes. The area of the arrondissement is 901.58 km2, and its population was 162,607 in 2013.
  3. Arrondissement of Douai, (subprefecture: Douai) with 64 communes. The area of the arrondissement is 476.59 km2, and its population was 247,279 in 2013.
  4. Arrondissement of Dunkerque (Dunkirk), (subprefecture: Dunkerque) with 111 communes. The area of the arrondissement is 1,442.73 km2, and its population was 377,081 in 2013.
