Australia 21 is a non-profit organisation started in Canberra in 2001. The organisation discusses some of the issues that challenge the future such as climate change, energy, land and water use, drug reform laws, euthanasia and the way Australia relates to its neighbours. Australia 21 helps research into various issues by developing networks of serious thinkers and researchers from a range of disciplines and institutions and by facilitating alternative ways of thinking about and responding to the emerging challenges.
