Basic Support for Cooperative Work (BSCW) is a collaborative workspace software package for collaboration over the Web, developed by the Fraunhofer Society. BSCW supports document upload, event notification, and group management. The last version is the BCSW 5.1. Clients require a standard web browser only.

The scheme supports collaboration through shared workspaces; small repositories in which users can hold threaded debates, upload papers, and acquire material on the prior accomplishments of other users to organize their own work. The majority of CSCW applications are investigation models built in research laboratories, envisioned to display the viability of some particularly fresh method.[3]

The company, OrbiTeam Software GmbH & Co. KG, was founded in 1998.[1] The company has its headquarter in Bonn, Germany.[2]
