Babu is a 1971 Indian Tamil film, directed by A. C. Trilogchander. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Sowcar Janaki and Vennira Aadai Nirmala in lead roles. The film had musical score by M. S. Viswanathan.[1][2][3][4] The film was a remake of Malayalam film Odayil Ninnu, which itself was based on Malayalam writer Kesavadev's novel of the same name.

The music composed by M. S. Viswanathan, while lyrics written by Vaali.[5] G. Dhananjayan in his book Pride of Tamil cinema noted "The songs became hugely popular and contributed to the success of the film".[6]
