"Baby" is the third single by American R&B singer Ashanti from her debut album. It was written by Ashanti, Irving Lorenzo, Andre Parker, Brad Jordan, Mike Dean and producer 7 Aurelius. It contains musically interpolates of Scarface's "Mary Jane" which was also ghosted produced by 7 Aurelius. A remix of the song also features Scarface.

The song was released as the album's third and final single on November 17, 2002 (see 2002 in music). "Baby" reached number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number seven on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Songs chart. The song became Ashanti's third solo single to reach the top ten on the Hot 100 and is her fifth top ten entry on the Hot R&B Songs chart. The song only managed to chart at numbers forty-eight and eighty-nine on the Netherlands and Germany charts.

Music video

The music video features actress Nia Long. It is directed by CEO and founder of Murder Inc, Irv Gotti. A video was made for a remix which featured labelmate Crooked I.
