Chaliyam is a small village near Feroke in Kerala State, India.Famous Battle of Chaliyam was taken place here on 1571 against Portuguese.Revolutionaries broken the fort which was made by Portugal in here.Chaliyam is also famous for Khalasi[1]

Chaliyar River[edit]

Chaliyam village is surrounded by Chaliyar River on three sides and the Arabian Sea on the west.

Tourism[edit]

Chaliyam is a tourist village because of its scenic beauty. There is a light house here and a jankar service across Chaliyar estuary to the nearby port of Beypore. Tourists can walk one kilometre into the sea at Chaliyam and also at Beypore. The Chaliyam side is less visited than Beypore because it is less developed.
