Battle of Fiodh-an-Átha
Appearance
The Battle of Fiodh an Átha was fought in 1330 at what is now Finnea, County Westmeath, Ireland. The Annals of the Four Masters records that in that year an army was led by Ualgharg Ó Ruairc, King of Breifne to Fiodh an Átha, and was met by a Norman army. Ó Ruairc's army was defeated and Art Ó Ruairc, heir to the chieftaincy of Breifne, Rory MacGauran, and many others, were slain.[1]
