Bay St. Lawrence is a fishing community in northern Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia in Victoria County. The federal Electoral Riding is Sydney—Victoria. Some think the bay could have been the place where Viking explorer Leif Ericson founded his colony, around the year A.D. 1000, which is called Hop or Leifsbudir. This has to be verified by some archeological researches.
