Blazer Drive (ブレイザードライブ, Bureizā Doraibu) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Seishi Kishimoto and is published in the new Monthly Shōnen Rival[1]. It is now also a DS game developed by Sega, it uses a parallel story.[1]

Plot overview

The story takes place in a futuristic style of Tokyo, Japan, where society has harnessed the power of the elements. A group of people developed the so called "Mystickers" that give various effects that can be used in daily life actions. Examples include using an electric Mysticker to power a vehicle or a fire Mysticker to heat a kettle. These stickers are used in everything from labor to entertainment to even modern fighting it's said to highly dangerous to attach to your skin but this is a story about those who can without harm.

The reader follows the exploits of Daichi who, in the first chapter of the manga, finds out he is a Blazer and losing his brother,Ginga . The story progresses slowly to Daichi becoming a part of a group called the Guardian Divsion. He make's quick friends with his brother's partner, Kuroki and they start to try and figure out why Nora-Bure are doing what they do stealing rare mystickers. After a run in with another group of Nora-Bure they kind of snatch up Misora, a tomboyish leader of a local team, on their team who at first is completely lost and seems to not understand what a Blazer is until taken to the Guardians base where she's confronted by the dominatrix Leader and revealed to be a potential Blazer. Daichi and Kuroki are sent on a mission while the leader sees if she can draw out Misora's potential. Daichi makes quick work of his opponent by using intelligence you didn't think he had after a long chase while Ginga recovers from a dog getting near. As Daichi is about to head back to the the Division safe house a boy with white hair comes to claim the sticker just retrieved off the fallen enemy from Daichi. The next chapter opens with a girl buying some stickers but can't seem to find the friend she was with, Shiro, back to Daichi who starting to believe the white haired kid is an enemy and vice versa. They have a quick fight, the white haired kid shows off his personal Mysticker,Valiant, they come to a draw just before the girl comes around and explains everything the two of them are Guardians also, Tamaki and Shiro with a creature they call Pettan. There is obviously some friendly rivalry that is building between the two guys, they let it go because of Tamaki after alittle bit of fighting. The creator of Mystickers is explained to be a researcher into the theoretical world of the forth dimension, but not much is actually said before another fight breaks out. Shiro at first dosen't except Daichi's help during the fight against a Nora-Bure, Beast a man who has animal features and is very strong who can even match the power of a Mysticker without using one. During the fight Tamaki shows her personal Mystickers, Wind & Aphrodite. After a cheapshot by Daichi mixed with a combo attack by Shiro, Beast reveals his Mysticker, Tigerjack, which morphs him into an anthropomorphic tiger with the horns of Impala with extending spines of a porcupine, the first shape shifting Mysticker seen by the characters. Daichi and Shiro choose to work together using the Mystickers they where arguing about when they first met defeating Beast and drainning both of them. Daichi is taken back and reprimanded for not getting his original target on top of that almost has his new sticker taken away, he takes it back. While leaving he runs into Misora, they choose to return to Team sky's home base. It is shown that Daichi is getting to more attracted to her as they run into a mysterious blazer, who took out a group of blazers, that is playing a guitar in public. Daichi notices somethings wrong but not until the blazer activates it dose Misora notice also, it is revealed that Daichi has a "spark" no one else dose but everyone wants just like his brother had. A fight breaks out Daichi is surprised when God Stand dosen't work alone but soon uses his new Mysticker combined with God Stand just have him over powered by his own weapon and nearly got him and Misora killed how ever Kuroki saves them. Kaine, the mysterious guitarist introduces himself and surrounds them with zombie like minions who are normal people just knocked out under his control, Kuroki makes quick work of them using his sword to not kill them but to drain their souls of evil. Chapter 5 ends Daichi realizes he jumped the gun and could have gotten him and Misora killed but both of them are to blame so Kuroki says they should both get punishment, ending Volume 1.

Chapter 6 opens with a story surrounding Misora who has an agruement with her mom when she tells her mom she's on the search for her true self.

Characters

Daichi
Team Sky, Chore Boy / Guardian of Section III

The protagonist of the series. He seems somewhat reckless but knows how to deal with difficult situations. He is a blazer and so far most often uses a electric Mysticker given to him by his brother the God hand which is a great electric Mysticker with unknown potential. Tamamayu Mysticker, that makes a arm gauntlet that is similar to Jio Freed's Devil summoned hand that has been revealed if master has great offensive and defensive value that is prefect for Daichi and Ginga's type of use. Daichi and Shiro have become rivals much like Goku/Vegeta, Naruto/Sasuke and Jio/Jin after they first meet and work together. .He uses a motorized two wheeled version of a skateboard called ballboard as his main transportation.(This most likely is a nod to the character Ball, from 666 Satan, who used magnetic versions of his namesake as roller blades). He is like the main protagonist of 666 Satan, Jio Freed in appearances and some what in personality but his similarities end there.

Ginga
Ex-Guardian of Section III

Daichi's older brother who seems to be a rather cold person at the beginning, especially with his younger brother. Daichi thinks he resents him because their parent's died when Daichi was telling them to buy something for him, causing his dad to crash the car. Ever since that day, Ginga has been cold and impolite to Daichi. At the end of chapter one the truth about Ginga was discovered: he really did care for his little brother and protected him, when a group of blazers wanted Daichi on their side. Ginga tells Daichi that they were both blazers and after being severely injured, he is transported into another dimension.

Misora
Team Sky, Leader/possible Guardian of Section III

A caring person that looks after the group. She's been kind of forcefully recruited into Kuroki's group in chapter 2 and seems to harbor romantic feelings toward Daichi. According to the leader of the guardians' leader, she harbours potential to become a Blazer and was left chained up in a comprising position to be examined. Her appearance is similar to Ruby Crescent of 666 Satan.

Kuroki
Guardian of Section III

The best friend of Ginga and the one that offers Daichi an explanation of the world of Blazers. He recently joined Daichi's life in order to help him now that his brother disappeared, changing Daichi's daily life forever. He has a joking personality and likes to tease Daichi whenever he can. He also seems to have a fear of dogs. His appearance resembles Kirin of 666 Satan, including his hair, which covers his eyes the same way Kirin's hair hid his. He is good with Healing type sticker and seen carrying around a huge sword which he has yet to use. He is suppose to be the one training Daichi and when he fails to make sure little damage happens when Daichi fights beast, he's punished. He uses a unnamed one seater vehicle that looks like a modified modern sport/street motorcycle that he dosen't uses his hands to drive.

Shiro
Guardian of Section XI

Fellow guardian in the fight against the stray blazers. Daichi first encounters him after defeating Yuuma who Shiro mistakes him for. After Shiro and Daichi have a short battle they collapse, but are found by Tamaki. They disscus the origins of mystickers before beast intrups Thanks to a combined effort and the help of new mystickers Daichi and Shiro defeat Beast. Then Shiro and Tamaki leave with the Testalossa mysticker Shiro becoming Daichi's rival like Cross and Jio of 666 satan. Shiro has a cold manner at first but he is a kind person and is an honest blazer. Shiro's design stems somewhat from Kaito and hair style of Jin from 666 Satan. Shiro initially fights using the Valiant mysticker, a gauntlet like weapon, he usually but later finds prowess with the Testalossa mysticker, a flaming sword that goes well with the fact he's good melee fighter along with a fire user.

Tamaki
Guardian of Section XI

Fellow guardian in the fight against the stray blazers. Tamaki is first seen shopping and can't seem to locate shiro so she gose off and finds him and Daichi passed out, they rifle throught his pockets before waking him up. Once Daichi wakes up they three guardians talk about the creation of mystickers which is then interrupted by the arrival of Beast. Thanks to a combined effort and the help of new mystickers Daichi and Shiro defeat Beast while she helped using Wind and Aphrodite mixed together. Then Shiro and Tamaki leave with the Testalossa mysticker.Tamaki is the exact opposite and is kind and friendly with everyone, it is hinted that she has feelings for Shiro. Tamaki resembles Yuria, from the 666 satan manga, along with Misora from this series as Daichi saw for a moment.

Leader
Guardian Division Head of Section III

Little is known about this women except she is the leader of the Division Kuroki and Daichi are apart of and that she has the ability to sense Blazers. This woman appears to be in her mid 20's to mid 30's a liking for S&M that is visible from the fact her room is decked out in S&M gear punishing those under her command with the gear . She states in chapter 8 she's the head of Section 3 of a known 11(which Tamaki and Shiro are apart of th 11th) as she tickling Daichi. She prefers to be called queen showing her as a full on dominatix. She is very Skilled in the "Fantasy Dual whip style" giving her even more sexual undertones. It's funny to note she has Seishi Kishimoto himself tied up into a ball in page 8 of chapter five he's only seen for one moment with a note around his neck.

Jonathan
Guardian Division Head of Section XI

There is nothing known about this man except he has been seen using a gun type weapon it's effect has yet to be seen. He is revealed in chapter 8 to be the lead of section 11, he seemed to set up Shiro and Daichi meeting. He also seems to have set up the giving of Tamamayu to Daichi.

Kaine
Musician and Blazer/Stray

A strange man who uses a sound based electric guitar Mysticker named Jimmy named after the famous guitar player James "Jimi" Hendrix , he's seen playing a normal guitar but when he get's picked on by bullies wanting his Mysticker he makes a quick work of them.

Pettan
???

Not sure what it is or where it came from as of yet. It follows Shiro and Tamaki is commonly seen on Tamaki or Shiro's shoulder or sitting off by itself in the corner.

Beast

One of the stray blazers and an enemy of Daichi. He has visibly animalitic features such as nails sharpen like claws longer then normal fangs and a Cat's iris he's the boss of Yuuma, a strong man beaten earlier in the series. He is very physically strong without use of a Mysticker smashing through a statue with one solid blow and smashing the concrete floor hard enough that it fragments up and send

Mystickers

These stickers can be placed on anything and anywhere. There are for example normal sticker with the elements; flame, ice , electric and light. There are people called Blazers that can place these stickers on body parts and then control the outflow of power in the mysticker. A normal person would get hurt by doing so. In the first chapter of the series a Blazer uses the rare arrow sticker and the ultra-rare dimension shift Mysticker together. The result is that where the arrow hits, the object or being is shift in a dimension. Amplifier stickers boost the power of any activated Mysticker on activation.

Blazers

Blazers are a group of special people that are able to control the power of the Mystickers by sticking them into their own skin and manipulating their power. The strength of a blazer comes from the power of the mind and concentration. If a blazer has mastered those abilities their powers will be at full and the sticker will be impossible to pull off by anyone other than the blazer who is using the sticker. If your mind isn't concentrated the blazer will hurt himself and the sticker will easily peel off. [2]

There are certain stickers that don't have any particular effect when used by normal people, but activate when used by aBlazer.[3]

Known Blazers are Ginga, Daichi's brother, and Daichi himself, Kuroki, Shiroh, Tamaki and a few of Kuroki's allies as well as the nora-bure(stray blazers). Daichi is an extreme example who fully found out about being a blazer when his brother disappeared to another dimension, and was revealed to be one after a bully stuck an Ice Mysticker on his arm and nothing happened to his body, instead the Mysticker fired ice spikes everywhere hurting the bully (and Misora) and everything in a small radius but him.

Usually from what is said if a non-blazer were to activate a Mysticker on the skin it would permanently damage the body and the person would lose the body part.
