"Boku wa Pegasus Kimi wa Polaris"
Song

"Boku wa Pegasus Kimi wa Polaris" (僕はペガサス 君はポラリス, Boku wa Pegasasu Kimi wa Porarisu, lit. "I Am Pegasus, You Are Polaris") is the thirtieth single by Japanese recording artist Misia. The title track was written by Misia and composed by Hiroaki Yokoyama and is the second single off of Misia's eleventh studio album New Morning (2014). The song was released to digital music stores and radio stations on January 22, 2014 while the CD single will be officially released on February 5, 2014.[1]

Musically, "Boku wa Pegasus Kimi wa Polaris" is a piano-and-string driven pop song. It was written specifically for the TBS television drama S: Saigo no Keikan, starring Osamu Mukai and Go Ayano, for which it serves as ending theme.[2] Its lyrics depict an epic love story by means of a Pegasus-Polaris metaphor. Misia conveys a sense of faith and confidence as she transitions from soft to powerful vocals.

"Boku wa Pegasus Kimi wa Polaris" debuted at number 1 and number 2 on the mora and Recochoku weekly singles charts, respectively, making it Misia's highest debut on these charts throughout her career.[3][4]

Misia first performed "Boku wa Pegasus Kimi wa Polaris" on the January 18, 2014 date of her Hoshizora no Live VII tour, at the Nippon Budokan.[5]
