Bonus Pastor Catholic College is a voluntary aided, Roman Catholic coeducational school. The school was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families. The College succeeded in becoming the 219th school in Lewisham to specialise as a Maths and Computing College.
The College today
Bonus Pastor is based on two sites. Years 7 and 8 are taught on the Churchdown site; Years 9, 10 and 11 on the Winlaton site. The school is currently being re-built on the current school sites, whilst students remain in the old building until completion - due for completion in 2013. The investment programme ensures the college has up-todate facilities, particularly in ICT and Maths, Design Technology, Science, and Drama. A new Learning Discovery Centre opened in 2006, and it has a library resource/ICT centre on the Churchdown site, in addition to six other ICT suites. The playing fields in Whitefoot Lane, adjacent to the school, are used for games and athletics. The College works very closely with Trinity CE School, Christ the King Sixth Form College and Lewisham College. More recently (Sept 2008) it began working with students from Addey and Stanhope School and Prendergast school, who attend the College one day per week to take part in the new IT Diploma course - the first school in Lewisham to offer one of the Government's new Diploma courses.
