Origin East Malling, Kent, UK

Buddleja davidii 'Adokeep' (selling name Adonis Blue) is a cultivar raised by Elizabeth Keep at the East Malling Research Station in Kent, England.[1]

Adonis Blue is a compact, small shrub, growing to a height of 1.5 m, approximately one-third the size of a typical davidii. The foliage is unremarkable, the leaves green and of average size for the species. The profuse flowers are deep blue, the panicles 25–30 cm in length, appearing in summer and persisting until the first frosts of autumn.[2]

Adonis Blue is cultivated in the UK, where it is included in the NCCPG National Collection held by Longstock Park near Stockbridge, Hampshire. Hardiness: USDA zones 5–9.[1]
