The CST–Panvel fast corridor is a proposed elevated suburban rail corridor on the Harbour Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway for air-conditioned EMUs (Electrical Multiple Units).
History
The CST–Panvel fast corridor was first proposed in the 2009-10 Railway Budget.[1] Rail India Technical and Economic Services Limited (RITES) conducted the techno-economic feasibility study for the corridor. It estimates the project to cost ₹110 billion (US$1.3 billion).
Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) will execute the project in association with the State Government through a public private partnership.
Plan
The 48.3 km long corridor will be elevated for 31.6 km of the route and will be at grade for 12.4 km, where it will run parallel to existing lines. The corridor will also require the construction of a 4.3 km bridge over Thane Creek.[2]

Frequency
The frequency of train services is estimated at 4.5–5 minutes. This means at least 14 services per hour will be operated.
