Caloplaca Cove

Caloplaca Cove (60°43′S 45°35′W / 60.717°S 45.583°W / -60.717; -45.583Coordinates: 60°43′S 45°35′W / 60.717°S 45.583°W / -60.717; -45.583) is a cove between Rethval Point and Pantomime Point on the east coast of Signy Island. It was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee after the abundant orange lichens of the genus Caloplaca, which encrust the sea cliffs around the cove.
