Just a jist of it. Germany and Austria Hungary were together in all war times. As per the plan germany was to defeat Fance. While the First World War was happening, France,Britain and Russia were on one side,while The Caentral Powers, Germany, Austria Hungary on the other. Serbia and Belgium were soon drawn away. Turkey and Bulgaria soon joint the central powers. While on the other hand the triple alliance as in the France, Britain and Russia gradually built up coalition. Italy, Greece, Rumania and Portugal also joined. Japan joint in only because it wanted to take over German position in the Far East and western pacific but took no interest outside its region. The U.S.A joint in, in 1917. The Germans had to fight two countries at the same time.
