Classification (ethnic): Semitic peoples: Arab people
or pan-ethnic Arab peoples: Arab people

Arab people are people of Arab origin. Arabs consist of descendents of the nomadic people who inhabited the northern and central Arabian peninsula as well as the peoples who acquired the language, culture, and identity of the Arab tribes through Arabization during the early Islamic conquests. These Arabized peoples have significant genetic elements of Arabian tribes[1] as well as native populations, in contrast to Arab peoples of non-Arab origin.

Articles listed under the category Arab people include:

  • people from the Arab world before present-day nationalities were carved out (including many medieval people);
  • people from the Arab world who did not self-identify with any more precise nationality;
  • people from the Arab world whose nationality is not indicated in the article

Other Arab people should fall into subgroups of the category. People from the modern country of Saudi Arabia fall under Category:Saudi Arabian people. Groups from pre-Islamic Arabia fall under Category:Tribes of Arabia.
