Famous Criminals and Outlaws of the Philippines


During the Philippine American War between 1903-1907, the Brigandage Act of Nov. 12, 1902 interpreted all acts of armed resistance to American rule as banditry. These men were called "bandoleros":

-Julian Montalan

-Macario de Leon Sakay

-Luciano San Miguel

Armed Robbery:

-Gilbert Colangco convicted 2011. Currently on appeal and on trial for other charges.


-Roger Dominguez trial began 2011. Verdict pending.

-Raymond Dominguez convicted in 2012, currently on appeal and on trial for other charges.

Estafa (Fraud):

-Phillip Salvador - convicted in 2006, currently on appeal.

-Deborah Sun - pardoned in 2006

Illegal Possession of Firearms:

-Robin Padilla - pardoned in 1998


-Dennis Roldan - paroled in 2010


-Marcial "Baby" Ama - executed in an electric chair in 1961

-Hubert Webb - acquitted in 2010

-Jason Ivler trial began 2010. Verdict pending.


-Jose "Erap" Estrada - pardoned in 2007.  

-Gloria Macapagal Arroyo trial began 2011 Verdict pending.
