House of Romanov — the Romanov were a noble family that ruled Muscovy and then Imperial Russia from 1613 to 1762.

  • The family eventually died out. Female-line descendants succeeded them as Holstein-Gottorp-Romanov, and 'Romanovs' continued to rule until 1917.
