Sri Lankan Tamil revivalists is a category that categorizes people of Sri Lankan Tamil descent who were instrumental in reviving various aspects of native culture such as religion, language and arts that were either dormant or suppressed during the long period of colonial rule by various European powers from 1619 until 1947 in Sri Lanka.
