Why is this page being placed in categories suggesting it is part of an Argentine 'diaspora'? The articles listed in this category are Argentines of Basque descent. I cannot think of any Argentines who have become notable in the Basque Country, it is all the other way round. The category, vastly underpopulated, has a President of Argentina, a Mayor of Buenos Aires and Che Guevara, who I can't believe ever visited Spain/France, although you can make a tenuous description of his leaving Argentina as part of a diaspora (his pan-Americanist outlook didn't respect borders though). These are immigrants or descendants of immigrants, not emigrants.

Can you please discuss this further here before changing? Perhaps we need a separate category for Argentines of Basque descent and Basques of Argentine descent but I severely doubt it. Mtiedemann 18:55, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I now realise that the last change was not a complete revert, but I still think it too complicated and largely unnecessary to have each category 'looking both ways' and in common English parlance, surely they would be Basque-Argentines or Argentine-Basques. In addition, I think 'diaspora' is too strong (ie POV) a term, and many of those that left under the proceso, etc returned. Let's not confuse the terms. Mtiedemann 19:04, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
