Are the categories by year of birth and death to include only humans or can animals like Buddy Clinton and Dolly the sheep be included as well? Q0 21:14, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Lists of people needing categorization by birth or death[edit]

I've compiled three lists of people needing categorization by birth or death (as of mid-March 2008):

Any help gratefully received in adding the appropriate categories to these! Dsp13 (talk) 21:07, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

A good number of the XXXX births categories have thousands of members. For example, there are 3,978 pages in Category: 1948 births.

What we could do is split those categories by month, for example:

Same thing would apply to deaths by year. FMAFan1990 (talk) 08:59, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Why do we have these categories? The number of people born each (recent) year is huge and they have little in common. --Apoc2400 (talk) 16:26, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

A comment a friend of mine watching me search through a couple years for a person (not the most efficient way, I know) was "they should sort these by nationality." My thoughts are that it just would be waaay too much tedious, dull work, because a seriously big number of people have been born (cite world population) but he wanted me to suggest this anyway. 1900 births is subcategory of 19th-century births and 20th-century births[edit]

Category:1900 births is a sub-category of both Category:19th-century births and Category:20th-century births. What's the best way to resolve this? GoingBatty (talk) 01:57, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Category:Births by date[edit]

I think we should also have this. Such as Category:January births or Category:January 1st births. So we can organize people who share the same birth dates. Ranze (talk) 22:54, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
