Too late now, but this title is ungrammatical[edit]
This category should be "Category:Formerly populated places in Canada". It's not the same as "former municipalities"....modifiers of adjectives must be in adverbial form. This is not the only category with grammar/style problems; the "in Such-and-So Regional District" ones are similarly badly named (style in BC English does not treat them as plain proper names, they require "the" before the name).Skookum1 (talk) 22:36, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"Former" isn't modifying "populated" here; it's modifying "places". Some of these are places which were formerly populated and no longer are, yes, but many more of them are former places which were amalgamated into other entities but are still populated. The latter kind aren't "formerly-populated places", they're "former populated-places". I do agree that there's a bit of a naming issue here, but this isn't the solution to it.
