Chainpur block, one of the eleven administrative blocks of Gumla district, Jharkhand state, India, has a population (1991 census) of 44,573. The block comprises eighty-three villages.Lies bordered with Chhattisgarh, also is on the way to reach Tanginath Shrine. Lies within it are many historical places like Raja Dera and similars.
Lance Naik Albert Ekka, Param Vir Chakra,was born in village Jari of Chainpur Block.
