The Chiweenie (chihuahua-weiner dog) is a crossbreed dog, a mix of a Dachshund and a Chihuahua. Considered a designer dog, the breed is fairly new, having first been bred in the early 1990's, and are gaining more popularity in North America. This breed is known to be friendly and loving, and is considered an ideal lap dog. They are also quite energetic, and love to play, although they do not require much exercise. [1]
