Claire Stansfield (born 27 August 1964 in London, England) is an actress, director, fashion designer and former model. She is best-known for her recurring role as "Alti" in several episodes of the TV series Xena: Warrior Princess.
Biography
Stansfield was born in England to an English father and German mother. She was raised for most of her youth in Toronto, Canada[1]. As a teen she worked as a model in Canada and England before turning to acting. She studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London before moving to Hollywood.
Besides her role as "Alti" in Xena: Warrior Princess, Stansfield's recurring roles include "Sid" in the cult TV series Twin Peaks and "Kristina" in the show Frasier. She starred in the 4th X-Files episode during season 1. In 1998 she starred opposite Dolph Lundgren in the Angolan set film, Sweepers. The film was shot and partly produced in South Africa.
Stansfield directed The Lovely Leave in 1999, based on the short story of the same name by Dorothy Parker.
Stansfield founded C&C California, a clothing line specializing in 70's-style T-shirts, in partnership with Cheyann Benedict in 2002.[2] C&C was acquired by Liz Claiborne in 2005.[3]
Personal life
In her modeling days in the 1980s, Stansfield had a romantic relationship with Simon Le Bon[1], then later on, Ashley Hamilton[4].
