Colin Ferguson (born July 22, 1972) is a Canadian film and television actor, director, and producer,[1] widely known as Sheriff Jack Carter on Syfy's Eureka[2] and as Lewis on Then Came You,[1][3] and his role as the latest Maytag Repairman.[4] He starred in 2013 in Haven and in 2014 in The Vampire Diaries.

Ferguson stars in season 3 of the Hallmark Channel series Cedar Cove, premiering on Satuday, July 18th, 2015. “Olivia and Jack have their problems,” says star Colin Ferguson, who joins Cedar Cove this season as the new district attorney and a rival to Jack. “He hasn’t been terribly honest. Is it a good time to point out that maybe there’s another path she could take? Or, maybe I should step back?”[5]

Early life[edit]

He was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, and is a graduate of Appleby College and McGill University.[1][3] Since he was born and raised around Montreal which predominantly speaks French, he is bilingual speaking both French and English.[3] Although he was born in Canada and therefore a Canadian citizen, he is also a citizen of the United Kingdom, and recently[when?] became a naturalized citizen of the United States.[2][6]

Ferguson was a member of the Montreal improv group On the Spot.[2][3] He has been cast in many television series, television movies, and films, ranging from The Opposite of Sex to The Stupidest Angel. He was the lead for Eureka, a Syfy original series broadcast between 2006 and 2012. He was also a guest presenter for sci-fi news show HypaSpace.[2]

On September 5, 2011, he appeared on the podcast Disasterpiece Theatre to discuss what Eureka might have looked like if it had been directed by Michael Bay.[7] In January 2014, Ferguson became the newest "Maytag Repairman".[4]

Ferguson is a Montreal Canadiens fan, and he contributes to as a celebrity blogger.[8]
