'Crossfire', the album, was Crossfire's first album and featured Jim Kelly (guitar), Ian Kenny (keyboards, flugelhorn), Don Reid (saxophone), Steve Hopes (Drums), Ian Bloxsom (percussion & mallets) and Greg Lyon (bass & vocals).
Recorded in 1975 the record was notable for its influence on Australian jazz rock. Kelly and Kenny were attributed with all song writing credits.
'Crossfire' features the only vocal track recorded on any of the Crossfire's studio albums. Vocals on the last track 'You've Got To Make It' , Side 'B', by Greg Lyon. A live recording (1980) of Crossfire backing US jazz singer/songwriter, Michael Franks is the only Crossfire album recording that features any other vocals.
The album was released in Australia only and had a relatively small number of pressings, making the album rare.
